Surfing

I was able to take a break. My mentor and i went to the coast of Java for some much needed rest and fun.

We traveled for 7 hours but most of it by train. This is me on the rented motor bike we got for two days we just got one.

We were told of a place to surf down the road so we went to check it out but we missed it some how but found other great stuff.

We road the beach for a while.

We made sure to put on sunscreen but i still thought i was going to get burned it was so hot out. I made it the with out getting even much of a tan though.

This is just one of the places we stopped to get out of the hot sun.

The beach is so beautiful but while we were stopped we had to put something over the seat of the motor bike or the seat would be to hot to sit on.
This is along a new road they are making and we were the only ones to stop and take in the beauty. Truly amazing.
I really felt God blessing me this day.

This is the surfing place but not the one we were looking for. This one was right out our door.

This a local, they are very good of course. I on the other hand was not the best but it was only my second time ever.

This is my mentor and a local on the same wave. The waves were pretty small most of the time so when a wave came that you could ride everyone tried for it.

My mentor again. I don't have any pictures of me because we didn't want to take the time to take pictures when the waves were good. The only reason i got any pictures at all is because i fell and hit a rock on my side and that put a end to my surfing. It was close to time to leave anyway so i didn't miss out on to much.

I came back from this trip very sore but mentally and spiritually rested and ready to hit the books hard again.

Bali

Well hi again everyone. I went to Bali but it wasn't for fun it was for meetings but i did go to this temple and since people keep asking for a blog update here is the pictures.

There are big chunks of carved rock sitting everywhere and it makes it very interesting.

Not all life here is pretty.

Yes that is a cockroach.

One roach is something i don't mind to much, its just one of the things you have to live with here.

But fifty roaches that is a little much. Paul and i spent a hour spraying and swatting. I just thought that all the photo's i have put on this blog have been all very pretty and i thought i would show some of the darker sides of living in Indonesia. I didn't even show any pics of all the ants. This will just make the rest of the pictures that much better. Ha ha!!

Up the mountain.

Took a little trip up the mountain.

The road was part rock and part dirt.

Got to the highest village and it only took a hour of riding. It was worth it, the view is amazing and the weather nice a cool.

A forrest on the way up the mountain so quiet and pretty. I plan to take a nap there some day.

I will be going back. Not many places that you can't hear the city or be around people, but i finally found one. Us Alaskans need our whide open spaces.

New place to lay my head.

I have moved four times in the three months i have been here, but this move is the last, well for a while. I will be in this house tell the new year at least. I am staying with another single guy. His name is Paul and he is also in language school.

This is the front of the house of course.

My bedroom. The bed was there but i had to buy everything else. Kind of nice to have my own stuff again.

yes the fan is a must, not only for the heat but the noise helps me sleep.

The house isn't as nice as the houses i was in before but its permanent, so i like it. I do have to pay rent now though.

Well i guess i am really reaching for things to put on my blog but my days are pretty boring. Just study study and more study. I do get some fun but its nothing to take pictures of. Just tennis and ping pong and drives up the mountain.
