Rafting

I got to go rafting with some friends on sunday. Here is all of us leaving the bank. I am in the front of the red boat in the white shirt.
Another angle. The rapids were not anything big, but we enjoyed splashing the other boat and jumping in and swimming.
Here is me with my friend Yohanes and Sakri.
Jeffri and Mega and i.
After rafting we stopped and Ketip pass to enjoy the view.
Really we are not looking at anything but its a good pic.

We stopped at a temple also on the way back. Very pretty.

Last but not least. Me trying to get back in the boat.

Jeffri is not helping.

Getting my hands and feet dirty in Aceh was a nice change from language study. Went to Aceh to help out a Alaska team work on my friend Ron's new farm. The road was in need of a little work. We got the bobcat stuck a few times and one time we got the dumptruck stuck.

Here is the farm house as it is now. I got there two days after the team so i couldn't help as much but i stayed two days after but we got rained on and had to stop because i was just sliding around in the bobcat in the mud. Kind of fun though.

After days of work we went to a island called Sabang to rest and have some fun. This is some of us on the ferry.
I bought a underwater case for my camera with my house rental money and was able to take some great pictures with it.
Above is me holding my breath for a good pic. The water was so clear.
Part of the team standing on a big rock about 20 feet off shore. How cool is this camera. Have to get used to getting water off the case before i take a pic though.

One of the guys found lobster hiding under the coral. I reached down and grabed one but it pulled its antena off and swam away.

Huge starfish attacking one of the guys. Ha ha

Big Big school of different kinds of fish attacking parts of the reef and eating the stuff that comes off. Amazing.

Starfish kicking back in its own recliner.

Just so many fish to see. Feeling so blessed.

Look at this amazing fish, so beautiful. God is great.

Had a great time but now i am back to the books and the language. Hope you enjoyed the pics. comment if you like.

Hot day

I can't believe i am staying at a house with a pool.
Me and my friends cooling off. Found this pool at the store real cheap.

It may look funny but it was oh so refreshing.

Ken and Travis, i was still bringing buckets of water.

This was at night. I can't wait to get in during the day when its really hot.

My turn, all by myself.

Batam

There are 6 bridges connecting 6 islands in Batam. This is the biggest one and this is my friend Jeckson, who was my tutor tell he moved to Batam.

My friend Lena, my tour guide and Jeckson again.

This is out in a bay at a resort that some friends of Lena's run and they may let me run some fish farms in the bay. We will see what God has in store though. This is looking out my side bedroom window.

This is looking out my front window and there is a deck there so you can sit and watch the dolphins that i saw on the second day. So cool but i regret not jumping in to swim with them.

This is looking at my room from the side deck.

Lena, enjoying a good book, before we got back in the water, where we stayed most of the day.

They had a great platform for jumping, you just have to wait for high tide.

A little wave on the way down.

Prepare for landing.

Ahh so nice and cool.

One more jump.

This is a boat that Vietnamese refuges use to come to Indonesia during the war. There was a big camp here tell they were made to go home, but some were to scared and would rather die. Crazy.

Well that was my trip to Batam except all the other things i did but my camera batteries died. I plan another trip so i can talk to more people about fish farming and water purification. Hope you enjoyed the pics.
